Turn it on per number
Enable recording for a specific Twilio number, for inbound calls, outbound calls, or both. It is off until you switch it on.
Announce it (recommended)
Add a greeting that tells callers the call may be recorded, so you capture consent before the conversation starts.
Calls record automatically
Every qualifying call is recorded and saved to your account, tied to the call log entry.
Play or download
Open the Recordings tab to listen in the app or browser, or download the MP3 to keep.

Recording calls legally

Call-recording law varies by location. Many US states (for example California, Florida, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and Washington) and several countries are all-party consent jurisdictions, meaning everyone on the call must be informed before recording. You are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to you and the people you call. The simplest way to stay compliant is to use the custom greeting to announce that a call may be recorded before it connects, capturing consent up front. Only record calls you are legally permitted to record.
